49ers: Congratulations to Wr Jeremy Kerley, “Well Deserved.”

Niners Live wishes congratulations to WR Jeremy Kerley on a well-deserved and hard-earned new contract extension of three years, $10.5 million dollar deal.

This just in WR Jeremy Kerley signs a three-year deal worth 10.5 million (per Adam Schefter) and he’s worth every penny of it. Niners Live continued to lead the charge all last season in 2016 with; Kerley being the “Open Man” and Is Wr Jeremy Kerley Becoming the Forgotten Man? And now justice has been served indeed.

Kerley was the unquestionable and undisputed MVP of the team in 2016:

Recently on Niners Live, we’ve discussed the 5’9″ and 188lbs  Jeremy Kerley being a real blessing in disguise for the 49ers, without question or any doubt, and his production speaks for itself. Leading the team in nearly every major category when it comes to the receiver position by amassing 64 catches for 667 yards on 115 targets while averaging 10.4 yards per catch, and three touchdowns. What may also surprise you is that he had eight catches for 20 plus yards or more, and 193 (YAC-Yards after the catch).

Interesting to note: Kerley caught 55.7 % of passes being thrown to him by QBs Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick, collectively, while accounting for 28.7 % going for first downs (ESPN.com).

The career recap:

Kerley played in a full 16 games in 2016 and 90 games over his six-year career. Can you say “durability”? Yes, you can. He also accounted for 246 catches with 141 of those going for first downs, 2,892 yards receiving, while averaging 11.8 yards a catch and 12 touchdowns (NFL.com).

Allow me to leave you with this:

Niners Live recently discussed: Why WR Jeremy Kerley Is Kyle Shanahan’s Best Version of Taylor Gabriel and now with Gabriel being given a second-round tender by the Atlanta Falcons and obviously off the market; it was time for the 49ers to find the “Open Man” and pay the Man. Are your eyes wide open? We hope so.

On a Niners Live side note:

Great re-signing of Kerley by new General Manger John Lynch who fits well in new coach Kyle Shanahan’s scheme as aforementioned.

As always: keep your eyes wide open, 49er fans. Niners Live will be watching with you. #eyeswideopen and often imitated but never duplicated… Go Niners.
